How ZenAstro handles your information

ZenAstro has no accounts and no database. This page says what happens to the details you type in, and which other services are involved when you use the site.
Birth details
When you generate a Kundli, the name (optional), date, time, place and coordinates you enter are sent to our server and used to calculate your chart. The result is sent straight back to you. The ZenAstro application does not save your birth details to a database or a file, and it does not set cookies of its own. A PDF is built on request and is not kept. If you switch the home page between light and dark, that choice is remembered in your own browser’s local storage and is never sent to us.
Our hosting provider (Render) records standard server logs. Those logs can include the web address of each request. Some pages put what you typed into the address, for example the city lookup includes the city, the country and your birth date. The hosting provider keeps those logs under its own rules.
Finding your birth place
To turn a city into coordinates, the server sends the city and country you typed (nothing else) to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service or to Open-Meteo’s geocoding service. Results are remembered in the server’s memory until it restarts. You can skip the lookup by entering coordinates yourself under “Enter coordinates manually”.
Analytics and cookies
Pages include Google Analytics, a service from Google that records how the site is used, such as which pages are opened, and the browser, device and approximate location of visitors. It uses cookies for this. You can block it with your browser’s settings, a content blocker, or Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Google’s own privacy policy applies to what it collects.
Fonts
The site’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. When a page opens, your browser contacts Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser details.
